FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know before you roll.
Locally Owned, Island Grown
We are proud Coronado locals who just love this island. We started Nado Karts because cruising around in an open-air cart is honestly the best way to soak it all in.
We want to share the real Coronado with you, going way beyond the iconic Hotel Del. We’re talking about the best local eateries, where to grab a cold sunset drink, and the quietest parks to relax in.
When you book with us, you aren’t just renting a ride; you’re getting a neighbor’s guide to the island. We take pride in our fleet and making sure your day is absolutely perfect.
See you on the island!

Rules of the Road
Can I drive on the Coronado Bridge?
NO. It is illegal and dangerous! Our carts are Low Speed Vehicles (LSV) limited to 25 MPH. You must stay on surface streets. But don’t worry, the views of the bridge from Tidelands Park are much better than the views on it!
Can I drive to the Loews Coronado Bay Resort?
No. The Loews Resort is located down the Silver Strand (Hwy 75), which has speed limits up to 55 MPH. Our carts cannot travel down that highway.
What are the rules for Car Seats & Children?
Safety first! Since our carts are street-legal vehicles, California laws apply. Children requiring a car seat in a regular car need one in our carts too. We recommend bringing your own to ensure the perfect fit for your little ones.
Can we drink alcohol on the cart?
No. The same laws apply as driving a car. You cannot have open containers or drive under the influence (DUI laws apply). Save the drinks for Miguel’s patio!
Where can I park?
Anywhere a regular car can park! Look for unpainted curbs (free parking) or grey poles (paid meters). Just avoid the Red Zones and standard street sweeping signs.
The Essentials
Do I need a driver's license?
Yes. Just like a rental car, you need a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. All drivers must be 21 or older. (We don’t rent to learners permit holders).
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. To ensure our fleet stays in perfect condition for everyone, we place a temporary $250 refundable security hold on your credit card at the time of rental. This is released immediately upon the safe return of the cart.
What is your cancellation policy?
We know plans change! You can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your reservation. If the weather turns bad (rare in San Diego!), we are happy to reschedule you for a sunnier day.
Can I pay with cash?
Yes. You can pay for the rental in cash, but we must have a credit card on file for the security agreement.
How does delivery work?
It’s seamless. We deliver your cart directly to your hotel, vacation rental, or a convenient spot like the Ferry Landing. Just tell us where you are, and we’ll meet you there with your golf cart and the keys.
The Experience
How far can I go on a single charge?
Our premium electric fleet gets 30-40 miles on a full charge. Considering the island is only about 1 mile wide, you could drive back and forth all day and still have battery left!
Do the carts have music?
Yes! Our carts come equipped with Bluetooth sound systems so you can curate your own “Island Vibes” playlist while you cruise.
What happens if it rains?
Our carts have roofs to protect you from the sun and light sprinkles, but they are open-air. If a heavy storm is coming, give us a call, and we’re happy to reschedule your booking.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. We are a dog-friendly business. Just make sure they are secure. We recommend a harness/leash so they don’t try to chase the squirrels at Spreckels Park. 😉
Are the carts clean? I have allergies.
We take cleanliness seriously. Our carts are professionally detailed and sanitized after every single rental.
Plus, our premium seats are made of marine-grade vinyl, which doesn’t trap dander or fur as fabric does. You get a fresh, spotless cart every time. Guaranteed!
Still have questions?
Don’t guess. Just give us a call (or text). We are happy to help.
